I'm not buying it. The ability is flavourful, to be sure - which is the problem. Why would an ability that gives you a one-shot ability happen to fit your character's flavour?

And you have targeted who with this ability?

Believe me that crossed my mind, but I went for a "what?!" reaction instead. That being said, my target could still die. Depends on order of targets.

Uhh, is it really night 3?

Bah, mindscrew is screwy.

Nope. I was trying to fix the RDA and broke everything. The mod had nothing to do with that.

A Night in stasis.
Was it not obvious that the 'super-JK' role that I knew was in the game was me? So, this does make sense.

Night 1 I targeted Alex (I was suspicious of him being Angel Bunny and didn't want his unknown power free; ironically, I wanted Discord free to work his magic), N2 Brendo (to test whether I was doing the exiling; I didn't want an active player gone for Day 3). When Reverse-2 came through here, I concluded it was someone else's fault.

To be clear, I believe that Sid has the inverting ability, I just think the lightning is a regular non-discriminating kill.

So Sid, why target me and Reverse?

my ability is based on intent rather than actual events, or so Eggs clarified for me... so the question is " what is the intent of your stasis?" and the answer i believe is protection so whats the inverse ? harm/death

As for why i targeted Overlord, i was curious what my ability could reveal, i wasn't going to waste it on an inactive player.
Reverse was targeted to see if i could open up anything about his abilities like i did with Overlord's

Vote: Supreme Overlord

Everything Sid has said thus far has been truth, as far as I can tell.

Using my Angel Software, I was able to give him (ie someone not me) an ability. I created the lightning/milk just for Sid's role. I was very specific about how it would activate. If the player could win with the Town, then they would be painted for all (and especially me) to see. If (and only if) it was impossible for the targeted player to win with the Town, they would instead be struck by lightning and die. Unfortunately something go in the way.

Let's see how you like the noose.

I am unfamiliar with Alex's and Sid's roles. But from what I do know what they both have claimed sounds plausable... However I find the "with the town" part of that claim to be pushing it, more than likely Alex said "if they must live/die for me to win". Unless Alex really is town, then I would like to know what makes you so sure as to give that kind of power to sid.

So are you trying the intent of the stasis was protection, so the intent of my original ability was harm/death? Well, I can provide the flavour of my original ability: the ability name is literally 'Protector', and the flavour is that the TARDIS is impregnable (untargetability) and I haven't given them the key to get out (roleblocking). Considering I softclaimed that ability Day 1, I'll be surprised if anyone doubts I have it, and by extension that the inversion thereof caused Alex's stasis.

Although, Alex, do you know if your Night 1 ability went through? Because if it did, my ability didn't work as expected, so the inversion story fits.

Sid_The_Kid wrote:As for why i targeted Overlord, i was curious what my ability could reveal, i wasn't going to waste it on an inactive player.
Reverse was targeted to see if i could open up anything about his abilities like i did with Overlord's
So what you thought of our alignments had nothing to do with it?

Preview: Darn. Alright; that explains why the flavour fits, and also why Discord has a kill (after all, he doesn't turn ponies to stone).

My win condition is not precisely with the Town, although it seemed close enough to make no difference that I didn't even realise at first. I win when all killing roles are dead. Hence I believed there would be more than one killing role. Is this a problem for you?

Alex, who did you target Night 1?

When crafting the ability, I referred to my win condition, which says "win with the Town".

If there was any scenario in which the target could win "with the Town" then they would not be struck. Obviously this allows some false negatives (neutrals, survivors etc), but when someone is struck they're very certainly not my ally, because they cannot win with me.

Well, I do not win with the Town. I when when all killing roles are dead. Since scum tend to be killing roles, I assume that, if I win, the Town would win with me. Doesn't mean I can't be your ally.

And, to be sure, it is a good ability. If I hadn't been protected I would no longer be your problem.

I made it flavourful in order to pin Sid to his claim on the off chance he was scum himself. Even without your one-shot trace, it's not hard to associate chocolate milk (the expected result) with Sid, and get info from who he targeted.

But that doesn't matter, since it's pretty clear you're not able to win with the Town.

Re: Mindscrew 2.0 Day 3

Post by Supreme Overlord on Sun Apr 14, 2013 3:36 pm

I suppose I should Unvote, since it appears Sid is no longer a threat to my win condition.

I might as well out what else I know. My reward was to receive a list of origins:
Dr Who (Me; Dr Who)
Harry Potter (Darth; Harry)
Mind Screw Meadow (Reverse-1; the frog man)
Death Note (Reverse-1; Light)
Angel Beats! (Alex; Angel)
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (Sid; Discord)
Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and My Hyde (Rewind; Jekyll/Hyde)
Elfen Lied (Reverse; not sure but guessing Lucy/Nyu)

By flavour, the killers would be Light (probably a serial killer, what with the 'sleeper cell'-type ability); and Jekyll/Hyde and Lucy/Nyu (split personality Mafia?).

Now, I haven't read Jekyll and Hyde, so does 'devoured' fit? It doesn't fit Lucy.
Vote: Rewind

Also, note that Eggs doesn't fit into this list, so is probably not a player.

Re: Mindscrew 2.0 Day 3

Post by If I Could Rewind on Sun Apr 14, 2013 3:50 pm

I'm just going to point this out but it could be a "God" stuff up. I your statement could have been misread by "God" as Town/ Non Town rather than what it actually was. That's just my two cents and although I would love to jump on the overlord wagon I'll abstain for now. Of course I am going to vote and I think I'll point my finger at Reverse again, surprise, surprise. Everyone else has claimed their powers which leaves RS (Brendo) with the killing role. Hence why there was no kill on night one. This just makes sense to me, I'm fairly sure I'm right and if I am there will be no night kill allowing for us to simply vote SO the next day if he really doesn't have a town win condition. The other possibility to consider is that he's jester, hence the lack of ability to win with the town. Either way I doubt that SO's role is a killing one unless Darth had a protection role and blocked the kills N1. And right now I just want to get the killing roles out of the game and go from there.

PS: I seriously doubt that there is more than one "mafia" or even that there is any "mafia" at all due to the low number of players there might just be town and neutral.

Take your time.

And since we have the time, I'll unvote, since there's some interesting info to be had from Overlord.

I had very little info when I was dropped here.

The fact that RS-1 (Wow that was weird) died by devouring, and that SO's "reward" seams to have come up dry... leads me to believe that Eggs may be a player... and may have killed me as with his threat (For continuing to post like a fool when that role was already over) just a thought.

I am indeed Ryu, I am a "sweet innocent girl". My win condition is survival. I have another ability that allows me to flip my personality, giving me different abilities, but I have not opted to do that yet. (Neither did Brendo apparently) I cannot change back once I do.
